Aren't we Malaysians?

SHAH ALAM: Dissatisfaction over the appointment of a non-bumiputra to helm the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) as acting general manager did not stop the state from giving the post to a Chinese.

Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the appointment of a non-bumiputra was a short-term measure for one year to ensure the effective continuation of management.

On being told that certain quarters are against the appointment of a non-bumiputra to the post, Khalid smiled and said, that “it is their view and this is mine”.

1. Why the dissatisfaction? Arent we all Malaysians? What are histories for?

2. Why short term?

3. On the third paragraph, good on you.

Pull Plug

I have never resuscitated (successfully) even 1 patient before.

How sad.

What sadder is when an MO pull plug just to convince himself and the family members that 'Look, guys... we've done our part in resuscitating your wife... she's dead now as evidenced by the fake asystole picture on the cardiac monitor.'

Why cheat in clinical practice? Why? I do not understand. I was part of the team as well today and I feel utterly dismayed and embarrassed.

This act, in my opinion, is only meant for those who are not confident in their clinical judgement, those who have no balls whatsoever to tell the family members the truth even if patient was unsalvagable... why not 'Look, guys, we've done the best we could in the past 30 mins or so... and the patient is in PEA (pulseless electrical activity), most probably due to the drugs that we've given in the process of resuscitating... and bla bla bla...'

Why did he have to make such terrible decision of pulling plug and worse, print out the asystole ECG picture to show the family members so as to convince them she's dead?

I have not much experience. May someone enlighten me? Please.

B u l l y = Back off, U low life 人(people)

PM said that this issue was started by a non-BN political party(ies). Has he given some thoughts as to why the 'komponen parties' did not make such comment or vice versa? Maybe, it's the conflict of interests in themselves. They are scared of losing things, things that they take for granted for the past 51 years. Not the interest of the Rakyat!

I agree that oppositions are voicing out the statement, so what? It is this bossy attitude of BN or rather _ _ _ _ that makes our country where she is today. Instead of listening, BN is filtering all good advices and constructive comments by the oppositions, if not the Rakyat. And, this cowardy attitude has led our country into a very dire situation right now.

Rakyat are becoming restless. However, what did they do? Political gimmick! One after another. The 'new' MCA has formed. Hopefully, they are gearing towards a more positive approach as well as leadership in the future. Personally, I think Ong Tee Kiat is not a bad one. Let see what he can do for us, Malaysians?

Our current leaders should take some lessons from Mandela on both consistency and idealism. Like most Malaysians, I am extremely dissapointed by the lack of leadership (dictatorship and weaklingship) in this country and by the lack of true long term solutions to the present state of the nation, both domestic and abroad. Mandela survived under unspeakable hardship with consistency and idealism. For me, idealism means practicable idealism. It can be done, dont use it as an excuse and tell others 'you are living in your own perfect world.

Dont talk through multimedia and hope that the Rakyat will be fooled. The media is controlled anyway, so no use reading newspaper or watching news on tv. We are watching, listening and analysing. In general, we are not educated enough to voice it out / they are educated enough to suppress the voices?

There is hope for the future. There is. As long as we embrace the approach of a true Malaysian, i.e. non-race, non-colour, non-religion based way of leading the country. Only that, true harmony is imminent.

Glioma ALERT!!!

English version:

Basically, do not let your children below 12 years old (preferably 20) use mobile phones.

Did some research on it, and I found:

Using a cell phone regularly – even a modern one – raises the risk of developing a brain tumor for many users, a new Finnish study published online in the International Journal of Cancer. The study, done by a collection of researchers from many universities and led by Anna Lahkola of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland, found firm corollary evidence that using a cell phone causes the risk of getting a brain tumor called a glioma to rise by 40 to 270 percent on the side of the head preferred for using the phone.

Some articles say no. So evidence still awaiting validity.

However, I dont see a point of a child below 12 years old using a cell. How heavy a price we are paying for modernization.
